Was a very strange trip, that was. The city was Berlin and was supposed to be a party birthday weekend for my husband's 30th. The thing is that the party politics in Berlin are crazy. You can wait for 3 hours and the door men turn people away because the one doesn't like the way you talk or stand...waiting in the cold. For the locals that's something normal. Exclusivity, you see. We moved from club to club. We managed to get in at the end though.
The city is nice and the people were nice too. The food is great and you can eat the best turkish kebabs. The drinks are great too. It is very industrial city. Lots and lots of buildings. High and modern. Lots of block of flats. At some areas I felt like in the suburbs of Sofia.
Great graffiti and street art.
I have some mixed feeling about Berlin. But as my husband says: we haven't really explored it as we slept half of the day and went out during the night.
We got on the city circle sightseeing bus tour. I find this is the best way to get the feel of a place if you don't have lots of time. Love the hop-on hop-of idea too.
Let's put it this way: I love Barcelona and would go there any time. Berlin is not on my list of these favourite places...so far. May be I would give it another chance...
The photos are from my phone though. Will do my best to add some better ones soon but the family computer is occupied almost 24/7 at the minute.
